andre dew aka mc dre is without a doubt one of the american drum & bass scene's most beloved mc's and has most recently been the first american mc awarded best breakthrough mc at the 2007 bbc 1xtra bass awards held in london, uk . mc dre was born on january 2nd, 1983 in st. louis, mo. although you can tell from his swagger that mc dre is heavily influenced by west coast hip hop. introduced to the sound of drum & bass in 2001 he jumped tight into the local southern california rave circuit playing with any dj who would put him on. he quickly picked up the differences in bpm and adjusted his delivery, he spit double time like he had been doing it for years, most importantly he knew the importance on how to hype a crowd. in early 2002 he received a call from bassrush promoter danny united and was asked to come and fill in for skibadee at the premiere west coast drum & bass massive and continued to run the circuit.  his debut release was in 2005 on an infiltrata & demo collab so appropriately titled "us against the world" on the tov imprint barcode recordings debut lp. through infiltrata he was introduced to photek who saw the raw and natural talent mc dre possesed. photek put him on at the sold out tekbz label party held at the world famous house of blues on sunset strip in hollywood last february. under the guidance of veteran mc's and crew members armanni reign & sharpness mc, this young mc has just begun to flex. keep your ears peeled in '07 for exclusive mc dre tracks on tekdbz and keep your eyes peeled for mc dre appearances near you alongside the world's best dj's.
